Events
• Alt Name: Peter, Jun 17, 1726, Newhills, Aberdeen, Scotland Chrstening Record. Record found for Patrick Anderson, son of George Anderson, Newhills, Aberdeen, Scotland for christening June 19, 1726. This is now confirmed by Ralph Blyth Anderson & Edward Ralph Anderson visit to Family Research Society records. The first name Patrick was used interchangeably with Peter at these times and it seems that Patrick was using the name Peter when it was entered in the bible record. The interchangeability of the name Peter with Patrick has been definitely confirmed by several of the experts at the Society.
• Birth Reference, Jun 19, 1726, Wagley, Newhills Aberdeen. 1 Again following the Event recorded for Margaret I found another citation that read as follows:- "19 June 1726 George Anderson in Wagley had a child named Patrick. Witnesses Patrick Anderson and Robert Chalmers." However the biblical record names him Peter, but the local staff at the Family Society thought that in Scotland the two names are frequently regarded as synonymous (like John and James) and this rendering was acceptable. It is also possible that the name was confused with that of one of the witnesses, also Patrick. However, whilst the baptismal date seems to identify him as the biblically named Peter, it and the place can be accepted with confidence, and perhaps Patrick recorded as an alternate name.
• Historical Baptism: Family History Society, Sep 14, 2009, Aberdeen Scotland. Newlands Bptism Record quote ;
"Anderson This day George Anderson in Wagley ad a child baptized named Patrick, witnesses were Patrick Anderson and Robert Chalmers"
Patrick and Peter were considered synominous Patricks often became Peter
Patrick married Margaret WIGHT. (Margaret WIGHT was buried on Nov 21, 1747 in Old Machar, Aberdeenshire Parish Record.)
