Bartholomeus Schonken, is listed in the "Wills and Testaments of Slaves and Free Blacks" in the year 1775, the year after he died. He is the grandfather of Johanna Schonken. • Occupation: "bosschiter" Quartermaster, 1729. 1 2 According to Jan-Willem Schonken, He was promoted in 1729 to the rank of "Quartermaster" • Alt Marriage Place. According to data supplied by Jan-Willem Schonken in October 2011, he was married to Leonora Claasz on 30 Aug 1733 in Venlo, Limburg, Netherlands, and not in South Africa as previously thought. Bartholomeus married Leonara CLAASZ on Aug 30, 1733 in Venlo, Limburg, Netherlands.1 2
