This is likely an error in that an "e" was added to bpth names. This appears to be a duplicate record with the incorrect spellings of the names.

Joan married George ANDERSON, son of Thomas ANDERSON and Elspet DEINES, on 9 Jun 1688 in Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland. (George ANDERSON was born on 8 Mar 1663, christened on 8 Mar 1663, died in Wagley, Newhills Aberdeen and was buried on 14 Mar 1710 in Parish Old Macher - Prob no headstone?.)

• Marriage: Handwritten Parish Record Seen, 9 Jun 1688, Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland. Handwritten Record seen in marriage between George Anderson and Joan Davidson given also as George Andersone and Jean Davidsone. It is clear that is the same marriage but an e is added to both names and Jean (a more scottish name) could be a possible interpretation (according to two experts at the Family Research Society when then they deciphered the writing)
Edward Ralph Anderson thinks the writing clearly says "Joan" rather than Jean. Furthermore there is another printed record showing Joan as well as Jean at the same place and time.
