• Alt Birth. ⁴ Alwyn Smit gives an alternative date of birth of 28 Feb 1841

• Occupation. ⁴ From 6 Aug 1869 till 26 Nov 1875 Petrus farmed on Steynskraal outside Beaufort West.
From 1876 to 1878 he worked as a lawyer for the Beaufort West Council.
After retirement he served as the permanent organist of the local NG Kerk. On his request, the Church Council installed a permanent organ fot the first time.
In 1881 he and his family left the town and moved to the diamond fields (of Kimberly)

Petrus married Anna Margaretha ASPELING, daughter of Johan Gustav ASPELING and Maria Carolina WINTERBACH, on 25 Nov 1838 in George South Africa.¹ (Anna Margaretha ASPELING was born on 28 Aug 1838 ¹, christened on 30 Sep 1838 in George South Africa ¹ and died on 20 Jun 1919 ¹.)
