BAIRD, John Martin ²

  Noted events in his life were:

• Emigration, 27 Mar 1820. ¹ He arrived in South Africa with his sister Agnes and went first to Worcester and then to Beaufort West where he was the Landros (Magistrate)

In this account he came to South Africa in 1806 during the second British occupation, and was appointed a Lieutennant on 9 Jul 1809 in the Cape Regiment.

John married Anna Susanna DE KLERK on 18 Nov 1822 in Beaufort West South Africa.¹ (Anna Susanna DE KLERK was born in 1806 in Cape Colony, Southern Africa ? ¹ and died on 29 Nov 1859 in Beaufort West South Africa ¹.)
