• Historical. With Acknowledgements. Their first child, George Mason Edmeades was born on St. Helena, and there after it is not known exactly when they moved to South Africa but their second son William Knipe Edmeades was born in Mossel Bay, Cape Province on 2 Sep 1841. When taking into account that she was only 37 when her husband died, stranded in a new country with 8 children, the eldest not yet 21, and the youngest not yet 9 months old, their descendents can be proud to have her as an ancesto5r. Mary married William Penvil EDMEADES. (William Penvil EDMEADES was born on 10 Apr 1810 in Maidstone, Kent, England 4 and died on 27 Jun 1859 in Zeekoegat, Oudtshoorn District, Cape Colony, Southern Africa 4 5.) |
