Thomas married Edith DAYBELL, daughter of George DAYBELL and Elizabeth Ann MALTBY, on 5 May 1913 in England. The marriage ended in divorce on 17 Dec 1917. (Edith DAYBELL was born on 9 Jan 1894 in Basford Nottingham England, died on 26 Dec 1970 in Greenpoint Cape Town and was buried in Cremated at Maitland Cemetery.)
