• Occupation. He was a farmer in the Moddergat district near Firgrove, Somerset West, later at Vier-en-twintig Riviere, Perteville District.

• Occupation. ¹ This source says he wasa stone mason by calling, but later took up residence at the place Berg Sinai and Rustenberg. He was a deacon and elder of the church in Stellenbosch

Wessel married Geertruy ELBERS, daughter of Hendrik ELBERS and Aletta MOLLEN. (Geertruy ELBERS was christened on 22 Jun 1681 in Cape Town South Africa.)
