Arthur James Rose was born in the subdistrict, St.Mary, Reading, on 5 May 1869 and died in Salisbury S.Rhodesia in 1933. He married Ellen Hayter at P.C.(?) Colchester, Essex, in 1890 and migrated to Rhodesia about early 1900. Ellen Hayter was a trained nurse and the citation states" m.Scotland 1914-18" and also refers to the Rotunda, possibly where married. They had no issue.
According to his birth certificate, Arthur James Rose's father was a musician, David Rose, and mother Agnes (nee Hoarde)

(Agnes Jean MILLAR was born on 5 Jul 1925 in Eldoret Kenya, died on 13 Jan 2003 in Borrowdale Trust, Marondera. Zimbabwe and was buried in Warick Farm, Harare, Zimbabwe..)
